Product and Pricing Manager

I. JOB IDENTIFICATION
A. TITLE: Product and Pricing Manager- ONSITE POSITION IN BINGHAMTON, NY
B. REPORTS TO: Director of Business Development
C. FLSA STATUS: Exempt
II. STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The Product and Pricing Manager is responsible for the independent administration, analysis, coordination, and strategic management of AVRE’s manufactured product portfolio and pricing activities. This position serves as a key resource to the Director of Business Development and other organizational leaders by providing analysis, recommendations, and information necessary to support product, pricing, marketing, and business development decisions.
III. RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE WORK OF OTHERS
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibility for employees. The position provides functional leadership, coordination, guidance and project direction to internal departments and other individuals involved in marketing and business development activities. The position is responsible for coordinating work across departments and ensuring assigned product and pricing projects progress according to established objectives, timelines, and requirements.
IV. BUSINESS COMMUNICATION
A. Communication with the Director of Business Development is ongoing.
B. Communication with staff, i.e.: Social Workers, Orientation and Mobility Instructor is ongoing.
C. Communication with the VP of Business Strategies is frequent.
D. Communication with internal departments is ongoing.
E. Communication with vendors, suppliers, customers, and other business partners is ongoing.
F. Communication with NIB, NYSPSP, and other distribution channel operators and managers is ongoing.
G. Communication with sales and marketing personnel (associated agencies, etc.) is frequent.
V. SUPERVISION REQUIRED
This position works under the general direction of the Director of Business Development. The position is expected to independently organize and prioritize workload, establish project timelines, evaluate information, identify issues, develop recommendations, and determine appropriate course of action within established organizational policies and objectives.
The position is not closely supervised in the day-to-day performance of its responsibilities.
VI. EDUCATION, TRAINING AND SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
A. This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related discipline.
B. This position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing, product support, or a related role. Relevant experience may include developing pricing our manufactured products, cost models, and supporting product development activities.
C. Excellent writing skills, exhibiting strong accuracy and attention to detail.
D. Strong time management and organization skills.
E. Excellent verbal communication skills, with the ability to speak one-on-one and in front of groups, both internally and externally.
F. Strong project management skills: able to prioritize and juggle multiple projects.
G. Strong skills in excel, spreadsheet formulation, and management of content/ information.
H. Understanding of the manufacturing processes and capacities.
I. Understanding of the importance of mission; interest in making connections between people and purpose.
VII. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Product Pricing:
- Manage pricing for assigned products, ensuring alignment with state and federal program requirements and market competitiveness.
- Analyze product costs, market conditions, and competitive data to identify pricing opportunities, risks, and trends.
- Complete price changes as needed in accordance with the existing processes and procedures of the respective programs. Prepare pricing reports and presentations for senior management.
- Implement approved pricing changes and maintain accurate customer price lists and pricing updates.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather market intelligence and support pricing strategy to align with business goals.
- Product Management:
- Manage the introduction of new products into both the federal and state programs, maximizing AVRE’s manufacturing capabilities. Assemble and submit applications for approval to introduce new products to New York State Preferred Source Program, New York State Industries for the Disabled, and the federal program -US AbilityOne Program.
- Evaluate product opportunities based on manufacturing capabilities, market demand, pricing, and program requirements.
- Collaborate with the marketing manager to maintain manufactured product’s packaging, keeping content accurate and up to date. Ensure product content is appropriately marketed on partner websites to include NYSID, NYSPSP, AbilityOne and other distributors.
- Analyze competitive products for our manufactured products for similarities. For the federal market, perform annual ETS (Essentially the Same) reviews to identify competitive equivalents for submission to NIB for approval.
- Collaborate with the Director of Business Development to oversee product lifecycle from concept to launch and post-launch support.
- Reporting: Maintain a database of reports of products, key attributes, and workflow,
