Material Logistics Agent

Corpus Christi, TX, USA Full Time
Compensation: $25 Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs with general supervision as necessary, responsible for planning and acquiring supplies, materials and equipment from internal and external suppliers. May include contracting, negotiating, schedule management and coordinating technical interface.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Provide placement of internal and external orders for components, outside processing, subcontracting and attrition relative to requirements to ensure a continuous flow of materials and meet Material Requirements Planning (MRP) demand
  2. Harmonize, communicate, and resolve issues relating to internal and external suppliers not meeting schedule requirements, for example, capacity, scrap, component discrepancies, alternate methods and materials as well as schedule changes
  3. Monitor and communicate item shortages to expedite and secure supplier fulfillment of demand and update Operations on shortage status
  4. Perform administration of internal and external supplier contracts, for example, performance metrics, price escalation, order and delivery changes, invoice and receiving discrepancies, and quotations
  5. Maintain and adhere to master data information of internal and external suppliers, for example, price, lead times, and order policies
  6. Develop recommendations for parts or program change management process, for example, price, lead times, make-buy, and part number changes
  7. Maintain and adhere to inventory-level and capacity targets
  8. Initiate and coordinate with other departments such as Quality Assurance, Production, Shipping and Receiving, Customer Service, Operations and other Material Logistics functions to resolve problems concerning delivery, component discrepancies, and lead times with internal and external suppliers

9..Participate in special projects, for example, certification effort, Six

Sigma, and Natural Work Team

10.Analyze, schedule and action orders based on Master Production

Requirements and/or MRP signals in accordance with established

Governances and policies

12.Post daily work plan, load work centers and post Modification

Notices and close orders

13.Inter-site coordination to harmonize schedule deliveries, change

Packages and address miscellaneous issues

14.Participate in improvement projects related to the Demand to Supply

process, including but not limited to, cost reductions, system

modifications and data management

15.Track status of material shipments and waybills

16.Maintain inventory level and in-flow schedules to minimize obsolete,

Inactive and excess inventory

17.Maintain accurate records and archives per documented procedures

18.Manage post disposition activities of non-conforming assets to meet

schedule

19.Ensure documentation is compliant to internal and external policies

and regulations, including but not limited to, FAI’s (First Article

Inspection) C, of C’s (Certification of Compliance), PO’s (Purchase

Order), clearance of discrepancies

20.Provide solutions to a variety of technical/business related problems

of basic scope and complexity

21. Performs other job duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 2 years related experience
  • CPM, CPIM & APICS Certified
  • Basic knowledge of MRP principles and supply chain management
  • Basic knowledge of process improvement methodology and application, for example, Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing initiatives
  • Basic knowledge of business law concepts, for example, definition of offer and acceptance, legal terminology and interpretation of contracts
  • Basic knowledge of departmental policies and practices
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, email and web-based applications
  • · Planning and organizational skills necessary to prioritize and coordinate workload within a multiple project setting
  • Verbal and written technical and business communication skills
  • Contract interpretation skills necessary to read and interpret supplier agreements
  • Negotiation skills necessary to secure, for example, price, delivery schedule, and performance metrics with internal and external suppliers
  • Project management skills necessary to participate on both inter-departmental and intra-departmental teams and special projects
  • Financial analysis skills necessary to review manufactured orders and contractual agreements, perform cost comparisons, and utilize pre-existing formulas
  • Current state driver’s license and proof of insurability

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Physical demands with activity or condition existing a considerable to moderate amount of time include typing/keyboarding using a computer (i.e., keyboard, mouse, and monitor), walking, standing, sitting
  • Considerable time spent completing repetitive motion tasks, filing, multi-task telephone usage
  • Occasional amount of time requiring accommodation, field of vision, finger dexterity, grasping, fine motor skills, hearing and near acuity, or working with the back, neck, or wrists
  • Continual amount of work performed in a general office environment as well as working in general shop conditions
  • Occasional exposure to hot weather, cold weather, humid weather, non-weather-related hot temperatures, general shop conditions, and wet and/or humid elements, wet weather and non-weather-related cold temperatures
  • Possible high noise level intensity
  • May be required to attend meetings before/after scheduled hours
  • Overtime may be required
